Archetype Publications Limited has grown since 1987 to be one of the leading publishers in the conservation of art and antiquities and technical art history. You can browse our titles on this website or download our complete catalogue. Titles can be purchased by individuals directly from us using the order forms or from bookshops (also see where to buy). Some of our publications are textbooks which have been/are used in IAP short courses in conservation.

Archetype Publications also distributes selected International Institute of Conservation (IIC) titles. These are listed with all Archetype titles under the section 'Available Titles'.

Congratulations to Ad Stijnman 10th November 2014

Chosen from a field of 1500 entries, Archetype author Ad Stijnman and his book Engraving and Etching: a history of the development of manual intaglio printmaking processes (Archetype and Hes de Graaf 2012) were awarded an honourable second place in the Karel van Mander award for the best art historical student dissertations in the Netherlands 2009 - 2013.
