Archetype Publications Limited has grown since 1987 to be one of the leading publishers in the conservation of art and antiquities and technical art history. You can browse our titles on this website or download our complete catalogue. Titles can be purchased by individuals directly from us using the order forms or from bookshops (also see where to buy). Some of our publications are textbooks which have been/are used in IAP short courses in conservation.

Congratulations Ad Stijnman 13th November 2015

This morning Ad Stijman received the Karel van Mander Award for his Archetype Publication Engraving and Etching at the van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. The jury called his book a reference work for eternity. Last year Ad was the first runner-up, when the focus was on medieval to 17th-century art. This time the focus was on modern art from 1850 and craft. The selection was from 800 dissertations over the period 2010-2014. Well done Marcus! 13th July 2015

Archetype sponsored Triathlete Marcus Nichols headed to Germany recently to compete in the European Aquathlon Championships taking place in Cologne. This was his first time representing Great Britain, and a very proud moment. He was racing against the best across Europe, and was very happy to finish 8th overall in his Age Group.
